Smith, Johnston win at Okatibbee Reservoir

Ricky Smith and Willie Johnston have done it again! They have won for the second time this fall on the Bass Anglers Tournament Trail that began in late August. This was the 4th tournament and last of the year before the trail picks back up next spring.
Smith and Johnston caught a 5 fish limit of bass weighing 9.56 pounds to win first place and $1,000.
Second place was claimed by Jimmy Williams and Fred Schoenrock with a catch of 3 bass weighing 8.05 pounds. They also had the lunker of the tourney, which weighed 6.33 pounds. The veteran team of Charles Wilson and John Mason once again had a good showing on Okatibbee with 4 bass weighing 7.64 pounds. Wayman Newell and Chris Stokes followed up their recent tournament win with another strong showing at Okatibbee. They caught a 5-fish limit of bass weighing 7.32 pounds, which was good enough for fourth place. Fifth place went to the team of Joey Knight and John Plowman. The remaining money winners are as follows.
6th: Jeff and Gordon Collum
7th: Glenn Hollingsworth, Dale Usry
8th: Ken Murphy, Tim Fox
9th: Brent Baucum, Adrian Coleman
10th: Frank Sullivan, Leland White
Angling team of the year race
The angling team of the year race is still pretty tight after only 4 tournaments, but Ricky Smith and Willie Johnston currently hold onto first place with 387 points. The team of Newell and Stokes is right on their heels with 379 points. Following close behind is Charles Wilson and John Mason with 377 points. Joey Knight and John Plowman have moved up to fourth place with 369 points. Rounding out the top five is the team of Fred Schoenrock and Jimmy Williams with 366 points. Bruce Roberts and Joel Cumberland are currently in 6th place.
