Shooting lights out, literally
The Leake Academy Rebelettes are off to a 4-0 start, but were on the verge of losing their second game of the year.
Leake trailed Strider Academy by double figures, but was making a comeback, in the East Holmes Invitational when the lights went out in the third quarter in the community of West.
After they lights failed to come back on, headmasters from Leake, Strider, and East Holmes met to discuss their options.
The game tipped off at 8 p.m.
Leake then went on to whip Central Holmes 73-51 behind 34 points from sophomore post Kristin Caldwell and 20 from wing Laurin Gross.

Buzzer-beating thriller
The Lady Tigers of Newton High School thought they were beat for sure on Tuesday night when Neshoba Central knocked down a pair of free throws with six seconds left to go up 60-58.
But Twila Clayton and Creashia Williams weren't through working their magic.
Williams drove the ball up the court and toward the basket, drawing in the Neshoba Central defenders. She then kicked the ball out to Clayton who drained a three-pointer as the buzzer sounded to give Newton the win.
