Noxubee Co. bombs Lafayette

Noxubee County scored 13 second-quarter points and added another touchdown in the fourth to defeat Lafayette.
The Tigers scored on a 10-yard pass and a 10-yard run in the first quarter. They would score on another 10-yard run in the fourth quarter to seal the playoff victory.
The win improves Noxubee County's record to 10-1. They will play Hernando in second round Class 4-A action on Friday night.
St. John 48
Enterprise 6
St. John improved its record to 10-1 with a 48-6 victory over Enterprise the first round of the playoffs.
St. John scored 21 points in the first quarter and got 13 in the third quarter to defeat the Bulldogs. It scored on a 1-yard run and passes of 41 and 35 yards in the first quarter.
Enterprise scored its lone touchdown in the second quarter on a 26-yard run. St. John also scored in the second on a 24-yard run to make the score 28-6 at half.
St. John scored third-quarter touchdowns on runs of 2 and 39 yards. It added a 34-yard touchdown run to finish off the scoring and leave Enterprise with a 6-5 record on the year.
Lake 29
Pisgah 8
Lake scored 15 points in the first quarter and 14 points in the third quarter to defeat Pisgah 29-8.
Lake scored its first touchdown on a 4 yard run in the first quarter. Later in the first quarter Ladeasven Towner scored on a 1-yard run to make the score 15-0 at the half.
The Hornets got on the board again in the third quarter on a 12-yard pass. Pisgah added a touchdown of its own with a 3-yard run by Nate Cooper. Then later in the third quarter, Towner ran a punt back for a 52-yard touchdown.
The win improves the Hornets record to 6-5.
Pelahatchie 47
Nanih Waiya 13
Pelahatchie scored touchdowns on two interception returns and went on to defeat Nanih Waiya,47-13.
Pelahatchie scored on interception returns of 80 and 52 yards. After it got on the board with the 80-yard return, it added touchdown runs of 2 and 55 yards. A 35-yard touchdown run gave them 27 first-half points.
Nanih Waiya scored on a 57-yard pass to make the score at half 27-7. Then in the second half Pelahatchie scored on runs of 5 and 10 yards. Nanih Waiya would add a touchdown on a 25-yard pass in the third quarter.
Pelahatchie finished off the scoring on the 52-yard interception return. The loss drops Nanih Waiya to 7-4.
Puckett 23
Union 20
Puckett scored on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter to beat Union in a close game.
Puckett scored on a 1-yard run and a 27-yard field goal in the first quarter. Union came back to score on a 1-yard run by Jody Blount to make the score 10-6 at half.
Puckett scored on a 20-yard fumble return in the third quarter. Then Union would score another 1-yard run by Blount. Union got another touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 96-yard run.
Puckett scored fourth quarter points on a 2-yard run and won the game, 23-20. The win improved its record to 10-0 while the loss dropped Union to 6-5.
