Drug Task Force agents expect no more arrests in weekend raid

Agents with the East Mississippi Drug Task Force said today they expect no more arrests this week related to a drug raid at the Dawg House on Highway 39 North last weekend.
Agent Warren Cox said fellow agents confiscated more than 2 pounds of marijuana, four high-caliber handguns, crack cocaine and powder cocaine from patrons in the bar.
Agents raided the after hours club at about 11 p.m. Friday and arrested several people, including two brothers allegedly running the establishment illegally as a bar Larry K. McCoy, 44, of 4723 12th St., and Tarance L. McCoy, 39, of 4017 26th St.
The search warrant authorized agents to look for illegal or untaxed alcohol, drugs and weapons. Cox said, "We loaded up on all that. We had a voluminous quantity of untaxed liquor being sold under the counter.' "
Cox said one of the McCoy brothers owns a package store and allegedly had been buying bottles of liquor at wholesale price and selling it in drinks at the other brother's after hours club, the Dawg House.
Because the business is an after hours club, selling alcohol there is illegal, Cox said.
The task force worked in conjunction with Mississippi Alcoholic Beverage Control officials on the arrests. Cox said community input helped.
The ABC also could charge the brothers with the alcohol violation, Cox said. Agent Chris Scott of the task force is assigned to the case.
