50th anniversary
The children and grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Reed Jr. will host a reception honoring the couple's 50th anniversary. The event will be held from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday at Mississippi Care Center in DeKalb. The Reeds were married Nov. 11, 1951, at DeKalb Baptist Church. They have three children, Doug Reed and his wife, Rhonda, of Lyons, Colo., Lynn Vanek and her husband, John, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and the late Johnny Reed; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Reed is a retired registered pharmacist. The couple owned and operated Adams Drug Store in DeKalb for more than 25 years. Mrs. Reed is the former Jeanne Adams. The couple requests no gifts.
