Behavioral management workshop set for Friday

Area health care professionals can earn continuing education units Friday by attending a behavioral management workshop at Alliance Health Center.
Dr. Lee Lee Marlow of Collinsville, who has a doctorate in psychology from the University of Mississippi, will lead the workshop. Marlow is director of Children and Youth Services for Weems Community Mental Health Center and is a licensed psychologist.
Organizers recommend the workshop for teachers, counselors, parents and health care professionals. A question-and-answer period will take place during the last 30 minutes of the session.
The program is sponsored by Alliance Health Center, the Mental Health Association in Lauderdale County, United Way of East Mississippi and Weems Community Mental Health Center.
Topics will include cognitive development, parent-child conflict, developmental milestones and behavioral management strategies.
The workshop is approved for the following credits:
One-half social work unit by the Mississippi Board of Examiners for social workers and marriage and family therapists.
One-half continuing education unit through the University of Southern Mississippi.
Five contact hours by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, Division of Professional Licensure and Certification, for mental health therapists, mental retardation therapists and mental health and mental retardation administrators.
Five continuing education hours through the Mississippi Association of Marriage and Family Therapists for marriage and family therapists.
