Oct. 27, 2001
The State Games of Mississippi won a national award in the 6th Annual Professional Awards Program at the 2001 National Congress of State Games Symposium Best T-shirt Design.
Local State Games officials credit two Meridian businesses for their efforts. The T-shirt was designed by Gianakos and Associates, now closed; the shirts were produced by M-Prints National Scrubwear of Meridian.
The symposium was held in Hartford, Conn., from Oct. 18-20, and was hosted by the Nutmeg State Games. The event is designed to provide an excellent opportunity for State Games volunteers to hear new ideas, share information, renew old friendships and develop new ones.
Representatives from nearly 40 states attend the symposium each year.
The 11th Annual State Games of Mississippi will be held in Meridian June 14-16 and June 20-23, with opening ceremonies scheduled for June 14 at Meridian High School's Ray Stadium.
For more information, call (800) 482-0205 or visit the State Games of Mississippi Web site at www.stategamesofms.org. E-mail requests may be sent to stgamiss@aol.com.
