Smith finishes marathon

Kyle Smith of Enterprise, Alabama participated in the Tupelo Marathon which was held on September 2. He completed the 26.2 miles in 4 hours and 6 minutes. Smith placed third in the division for men 29 and under. Each runner received a medal for completing the race, and for placing in his division, Smith received an embossed glass mug.
Smith graduated from Newton County Academy and Mississippi State University before entering the U.S. Army. He served three years in Kotterback, Germany and is now in advanced officer training at Ft. Rucker, Alabama.
Captain Smith and his wife, Misti, have two children, Samuel and Kailyn. He is the son of Bud and Felicia Smith of Decatur, Mississippi. and the grandson of Gladys White of Union, Mississippi.
