Second indictment expected in death of Union man

District Attorney Ken Turner said Friday he expects the next Newton County grand jury to hand down a second indictment in connection with the June 27 murder of Charlie Brackeen of Union.
Turner said he expects Cephus Terry of Philadelphia to be indicted for accessory after the fact of capital murder. Terry, 18 years old at the time, was arrested about a week after Brackeen's death.
Antonio Boyd, then 22, and also of Philadelphia, was indicted for capital murder by a Newton County grand jury in July. Scheduled to stand trial on Oct. 17, Boyd pleaded guilty on Oct. 8 to murder and armed robbery.
Turner said Boyd was sentenced to life for murder and got a 30-year consecutive term with no parole for armed robbery.
Brackeen was found dead in his home about two miles south of Union on Highway 15. He was shot three times in the face with a .22 caliber weapon and was found on the floor of his living room near a sliding glass door, Newton County Sheriff Jackie Knight said. At least 10 guns had been taken from Brackeen's home.
