Bulldogs look to rebound from 5-game losing streak

Last week's 48-12 loss to Newton dropped the Clarkdale Bulldogs to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in district play.
After winning the first two games of the season, the Bulldogs have lost the last five.
This week, the Bulldogs hope to break their losing streak and salvage the season with a homecoming game against Kemper County.
Kemper County has a 1-6 overall record after breaking its own 29-game losing streak last week with a 37-14 win over William Sullivan.
Clarkdale will look to senior running back Michael Matthews to continue to put out the kind of effort he has all year. Matthews has racked up over 100 yards rushing in the last three games of the season.
The Bulldogs might also be playing without junior quarterback Justin Culpepper who broke his finger in practice.
Gray is a sophomore while Norton is only in eighth grade, although you wouldn't know it by his play on the field.
Junior running back Quinn Moffite and junior tight end Adam Box also continue to lead the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs defense seems to be an area of concern. "We have to get off some blocks and stop their running game," said Hathorn. "Our kids have got to play hard."
Even with an 0-2 district 5-2A record the Bulldogs could still get a shot at the playoffs.
