The Meridian girls volleyball team will begin post-season action with a high-noon meeting on Saturday against St. Andrews High School out of Jackson.
Meridian earned a host position by winning its division championship. The Lady Wildcats compiled an impressive 15-4 record under first-year coach Susan Frazier who credits her players' committment to improving their skills.
St. Andrews is the runner-up from Division 6. They finished second to state power Madison Central.
Meridian will pin its hopes behind senior Regina Wiliams. She leads the team in kills with 65.
The youth of the club is served by sophomore setters Megan and Marissa Mendiola.
Rounding out the Meridian starting six include Jennifer Toole, Patricia Lanier and Valarie Hammond.
