Lady Cats 10-0 in division play

The Meridian Lady Wildcats won the division four volleyball title and clinched a spot in the playoffs with 15-6 and 15-4 wins over Murrah Monday night.
The Lady Cats stand at 14-0 overall while going undefeated 10-0 in division play.
The first round of the playoffs will be Saturday at noon at Meridian High. Meridian will be matching up with Saint Andrews.
Meridian softball Lady Cats drops one
Meridian lost a district softball contest 10-1, to Northwest Rankin Monday.
The Lady Wildcats fell to 19-11, and 2-2 in district play. Northwest improved to 27-5, and 4-0 in district.
Laura Bowles suffered the loss and fell to 16-7.
Meridian had seven hits and four errors, while Northwest got 14 hits, with no errors.
Stephanie Mosley and Eron Hodgins, both had two hits, while Bowles had a double.
Kristan Pregle led Northwest, with a 4-for-4 performance, with a double and home run. Lauren Hughes also had two hits, including a homerun.
Meridian concludes the regular season, with a trip to Quitman Thursday. The Lady Wildcats starts the playoffs in Clinton, on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
