Other local developments after the terrorist attack Tuesday on New York and Washington:
Meridian increased security at its freshwater treatment plants by locking gates to keep anyone from contaminating the water supply.
Meridian police provided extra security at the Mississippi Air National Guard base.
Meridian police checked an Amtrak passenger train for explosives.
Naval Air Station Meridian canceled night classes offered through Meridian Community College until further notice.
The Salvation Army has set up a mobile canteen at the road block on 65th Avenue to feed personnel on stand-by at Mississippi Air National Guard's Key Field.
Bonita Lakes Mall closed.
About 95 students at East Mississippi Community College held a spontaneous prayer session around the flag pole on campus.
Gov. Ronnie Musgrove ordered the American and state flags to be flown at half-mast on all buildings and grounds of the state.
