Excellence in education

CLINTON Five area students were admitted to Mississippi College for the fall term. Classes began Wednesday.
The students include Lintrail R. Dukes, April T. Hand, Julia L. Pollman and Christopher A. Thompson, all of Meridian, and Stephen D. Kay of Toomsuba.
Justin Antwain Temple is the recipient of a $1,500 scholarship from USA Education and USA Funds. Temple, a 1999 Northeast High School graduate, is studying computer engineering at Mississippi State University.
USA Education is the parent company of Sallie Mae, the nation's leading provider of education funding that was founded in 1972.
USA Funds, established in 1960, is the nation's largest guarantor of loans made under the Federal Family Education Loan Program the largest federal source of financial aid for higher education.
COLUMBUS Judith Daniel of Meridian is the recipient of the $300 Mr. and Mrs. Joel Elbert Fulmer Scholarship for the 2001-2002 school year at Mississippi University for Women.
COLUMBUS Melissa Moulds of Collinsville is the recipient of the $3,054 Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship for the 2001-2002 school year at Mississippi University for Women.
