Kelly Elane Bounds and Ryan Wade Brewer were united in marriage on Saturday, June 23, 2001, at Newton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tom Buckley officiated the double-ring, candlelight ceremony, with the Rev. Curtis Cain assisting.
Parents of the couple are Rodney and Betty Bounds of Newton and Jeanne Griffin Brewer of Winchester, Tenn.
Grandparents of the bride are Elaine Castles of Little Rock and the late Victor Castles and the late Mr. and Mrs. Amos W. Bounds of Newton.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. J. Raulston Brewer of Huntland, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alton M. Griffin of Winchester.
Music was provided by Leesa Wilkinson, organist; and Ron Widener, trumpeter. A scripture passage was read by Staci Turner of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of white silk satin. The strapless bodice was intricately embroidered in a floral design, embellished with pearls and crystals, and featured a fitted waistline complementing a box-pleat full skirt with a court train.
Her cathedral-length veil of silk illusion was adorned with pearls and Austrian crystals.
Daphne Dunn of Mobile, Ala., served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jody Vasher of Atlanta, Tracy Herr of Birmingham, Eleanor Buck and Melinda Newbill, both of Memphis, Tenn., and Molly Bernard of New Orleans.
Kelli Blackburn of Brandon, niece of the bride, served as junior attendant. Kennedy Bounds of Brandon, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
Griff Brewer of Coral Springs, Fla., served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Chris Vickers and Matt Houston, both of Birmingham, Jarron Springer of Nashville, Jon DeWaard of Denver, Colo., and James Webb of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Karter Bounds of Brandon, nephew of bride, served as ring bearer.
Historic Newton Station Depot was the setting for the evening reception. Z and the Party Factory of Birmingham provided music.
After a honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in Birmingham.
