    OBITUARIES FOR FRIDAY, AUG. 31, 2001

    Services for Evie Garrett Barnacastle will be held today at 3 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Sepus Garrett and James Kimbrough officiating. Burial will be in Lockhart Cemetery.
    Mrs. Barnacastle, 86, of Toomsuba, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, in her home. She was a member of Pine Grove Church of God and an avid gardener.
    Survivors include a son, Curtis D. Barnacastle and his wife, Peggy, three daughters, Lois Brand, Virginia Brand and her husband, Jerry, and Lynn Posey and her husband, Ron, all of Toomsuba; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis D. Barnacastle; a daughter, Pauline Goodin; and a grandson, Paul Brand.
    The family requests memorials be made to Pine Grove Church of God.
    Pallbearers will be David Goodin, Michael Goodin, Christopher Goodin, Owen Garrett, Mark Goodin, Barry Brand, Jeff Barnacastle and Jeremy Barnacastle.
    Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service.
    MARGO LOUISE HERRINGTON

    Services for Margo Louise Herrington will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Antioch Southern Methodist Church with the Revs. Wyatt Harvey and Wallace R. Terry Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Herrington, 62, of Collinsville, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    She was a member of Antioch Southern Methodist Church and practiced as a registered nurse for approximately 20 years. She last worked at Deer Run Lake Hunting and Camping Resort as a sales representative.
    Survivors include her husband, Howard Mack Herrington Sr. of Collinsville; a son, Scott Steenhoek of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Beth Koonce and her husband, Michael, of Sausalito, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Anita Kinard and her husband, Bruce of Meridian; three stepsons, Mack Herrington Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Meridian, Dan Herrington and Tony Herrington, both of Collinsville; her mother, Victoria Ruhl of Marion, Iowa; a sister, Roxanna Johnson of Bennington, Neb.; a brother, William "Bill" Ruhl of Anamosa, Iowa; two grandchildren and five step grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Sue Ruhl and her father, Don S. Ruhl.
    Pallbearers will be Neil McKeithen, Kevin Jenkins, Buck Chisolm, Joe Lacey, Bernie Herrington, James Hogan, Billy Touchstone, Chris Ruhl and Matt Ruhl. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Rutledge and Glenn Herrington.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.9 p.m. at the funeral home.
    The family requests memorials be made to Antioch Southern Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
    ONIE LEOLA HODGE

    DEKALB Services for Onie Leola Hodge will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Collinsville with the Rev. S.M. Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Hodge, 94, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
    Survivors include a son, Johnny Wilson and his wife, Christine, of Meridian; five grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Chapel in Meridian.
    CLAUDIA INEZ TODD SMITH
    Retired nurse assistant for Matty Hersee Hospital
    Graveside services for Claudia Inez Todd Smith will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Thomas officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Smith, 80, of Meridian, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Queen City Nursing Home.
    Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Inez Todd Faucette of Meridian; two sons, Vernon Eugene Todd and Terry Mitchell Todd, both of Meridian; a brother, Atlee Armistice Smith of Quitman; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Debbs Todd, two sons, W.L. Todd and Bobby Gene Todd, four brothers and two sisters.
    Pallbearers will be Jimmy Smith, Robert Smith, Danny Todd, Dewayne Todd, Marlin LaCage, Jack Davis, Gary Stewart and Steve Mann.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ROBERT RUSSELL WILLIS

    PHILADELPHIA Services for Robert Russell Willis will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father David Hamm officiating. Burial will be in Tucker Cemetery in Philadelphia with McClain-Hays Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Willis, 69, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Choctaw Health Center in Philadelphia.
    Survivors include his wife, Corine Willis of Philadelphia; four daughters, Barbara J. Willis, Donna S. Jimmie, Iva L. Denson and Cynthia A. Clegg, all of Philadelphia; three sons, Darrell G. Willis, Mark R. Willis and Stuart J. Willis, all of Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a sister, Katie Thompson; and a brother, Bonnie Willis, both of Philadelphia.
    MATTIE SERENA BAGWELL STROUD

    NEW ALBANY Services for Mattie Serena Bagwell Stroud will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at United Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Burial will be in Old Glenfield Cemetery in New Albany.
    Mrs. Stroud, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Benchmark Health Care in Meridian.
    Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Stroud Rowan and her husband, Benny, of New Albany; two sons, Coy Stroud and his wife, Ella, of Lauderdale, and Terry Stroud and his wife, Joy, of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Pauline Bagwell Orman of Crawfordsville, Ark.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Earnest Little of New Albany.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fulton Bagwell and Wardie Jane Roberson Bagwell; her husband, Lavern Stroud; a grandson, David Stroud; four brothers and two sisters.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
