Pickering to co-host faith-based forum at JCJC
U.S. Rep. Chip Pickering and the Mississippi Faith-Based Coalition for Community Renewal will host a "Faith-Based Forum" Aug. 14. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville at the C.L. Neill Student Center, 2nd floor, Room 217.
Children's Chorus holding auditions
The Meridian Children's Chorus and Youth Chorale will have auditions through Saturday for the 2001-2002 season.
The chorus was founded in 1995 by Vivian Hurley; it has won local and national recognition for its musical sound, varied repertoire and professional approach.
Call 693-7910 to schedule a private audition.
Union to host Country Day'
Union's 25th annual Country Day will be Aug. 25, in downtown Union. The Antique Car Parade will precede the Country Day program.
A talent show will take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 17 in Union City Park.
Acts must be country or gospel in origin; they must pay a $10 entry fee.
Owners of antiques cars are asked to preregister by calling Union Chamber of Commerce office at 774-9586.
