Work could begin soon on Lowe's

Construction on a new Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse near South Frontage Road in Meridian could begin within a month.
The store will be located next to the Wal-Mart Supercenter, now under construction. The Lowe's store is expected to open in Spring 2002; Wal-Mart is expected to open Oct. 11.
The Lowe's store will feature a modern garden center. It also will have a home planning center that will let customers design the interior and exterior of their house on a computer.
Mattiace said his company is also working on plans for four new restaurants and retail shops next to Lowe's. Mattiace said it would be about three months before his company could announce the restaurants and shops.
