Gold, silver on display at local coin show

There will be gold on the shelves this weekend at the 37th annual Coin and Currency Show, and a great deal of silver, too.
The annual two-day event starts Saturday at the Howard Johnson Inn at 9 a.m. It is sponsored by the Meridian Area Coin Club, and there will be a $1 admission charge.
Coins and old paper money will be available, along with stamps, jewelry, gold, silver, gems and minerals. Other collectables such as baseball cards, toys and comic books will also be on display.
Davison has been collecting coins since 1960, and actually attended the first Meridian coin show 37 years ago.
The show closes at 6 p.m. Saturday and at 4 p.m. Sunday. Free appraisals are available.
For more information, call 483-8281.
