Bazyari receives thanks from Leadership Lauderdale Education Committee

Aug. 3, 2001
Dr. Habib Bazyari, professor and chair of MSU-Meridian's division of business and industry, was presented with a plaque Thursday in appreciation of his work on a local survey on education.
Bazyari supervised the random telephone poll of city and county school district residents for the Leadership Lauderdale Education Committee.
Education committee chairman, Glenn Pogue, said Bazyari designed the questions, supervised the poll and interpreted the responses at no charge. Bazyari said his work was done as a community service through MSU-Meridian.
The survey showed area residents are happy with teachers and administrators, but, parental support and involvement in both school districts is lacking. Results of the survey were presented to both school boards last week.
Leadership Lauderdale is a program designed to develop leadership skills. It is sponsored by East Mississippi Business Development Corporation, Meridian Community College and the Montgomery Institute.
