Davenport, Sierra

Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Davenport of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Kimberly, to Juan Carlos Sierra of Meridian and Caracas, Venezuela. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Antonio M. Sierra of Tucson, Ariz. and Caracas.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at 6 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Meridian.
Miss Davenport is the granddaughter of Dorothy T. Pickard of Meridian and the late Robert H. Pickard; Jean C. Davenport of Jackson, Calif., and the late Edward W. Davenport of Tampa, Fla.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Southeast Lauderdale High School, attended Jones County Junior College and is a graduate of Meridian Community College.
Miss Davenport is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering at Mississippi State University.
At MSU, she is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, Gamma Beta Phi, Alpha Theta Chi, Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Society and a Swalm Scholar.
Miss Davenport is currently employed as a co-op student with the Engelhand Corp. in Jackson.
Mr. Sierra is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Mogollon and the late Mr. and Mrs. Francisco Sierra of Colombia, South America.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and received an associate's degree in electronics and an associate's degree in the University Transfer Program for Engineering.
While attending MCC, he was a member of the tennis team, MCC Variations, MCC Chorus, VICA, the National Society of Professional Engineers and a President's List Scholar.
Mr. Sierra was employed by the Meridian Community College Fitness Center. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Mississippi State University.
A reception will be held in the church parish hall following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
