Harris, Cater

Amy Lynn Cater and William Larry Harris Jr., both of Savannah, Ga., were married Saturday, July 7, 2001, at the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church in Savannah with Dr. James T. Trice Jr. officiating.
Parents of the couple are Kay Coltharp Cater of Hattiesburg, Dr. Robert Joseph Cater of Meridian, Jane Fuller Harris of Ridgeland and William Larry Harris Sr. of Madison.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. James Robert Coltharp Sr. of Hattiesburg and the late Mr. Coltharp; Mrs. Eugene Felix Cater Sr. of Meridian and the late Mr. Cater.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. James Morrison Fuller, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cliff William Harris, all of Laurel.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Robin Beauchamp, trumpeter; Jamie Weems, classical guitarist; and Nancy Voglesang, pianist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless gown of silk shantung, featuring hand-sewn silk embroidery and freshwater pearl accents and a cathedral-length train of English silk tulle.
Maid of honor was Megan Kay Cater of Seattle, sister of the bride. Other attendants were Morgan Valerie Harris of Madison, sister of the bridegroom, Barbara Rea Hebert of Baton Rouge, La., Leslie Chancellor Hiatt and LouAnn Jones Lamar of Meridian, and Angela Ramsey Meyer of Atlanta.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Gerstle Abernethy III of Jackson, Lloyd Andrew Brown of Atlanta, Robert Joseph Cater Jr. of Hattiesburg, brother of the bride, Alan Olsen Clark Jr. of Houston, Texas, Frank Montgomery Duke Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., Frederick Hugh Edwards II of Birmingham, Ala., Hunter Redmon Harris of Madison, brother of the bridegroom, Stephen Marion Hebert of Baton Rouge, and James Leo McArthur Jr. of Jackson.
A reception was held at the Savannah Yacht Club following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon on the islands of Turks and Caicos, the couple resides in Savannah.
