Services for Ollie J. Martin "Teddy" Faucette will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Faucette died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Comfort Care Nursing Home in Laurel. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Senior Citizens AWE and the AWE Choir. She was a life long resident of the Clarkdale community.
Everything positive and a message of lifting spirits and Christian love. In her last years with Alzheimer's, Mrs. Faucette was fondly called and responded to "Teddy."
She came from a Christian family that was sweet and church going. Her parents, John and Sallie Martin, spaded the dirt at New Hope Baptist Church. She had the same sweet, caring and loving disposition her parents had.
She loved her church, but was not able to attend as often as she wanted because of the hours she worked at the hospital.
In her work at the hospital, where she was assigned permanent floors, patients would ask for her floor when they returned to the hospital. This showed what a caring and loving person she was even at work.
She cared and tended to her husband, who was bedridden with Parkinson's, for many years.
Mrs. Faucette will be remembered as a quiet, sweet, docile and positive person. She always looked for the good in others. Mrs. Faucette didn't believe in tending to other people's business. She lived a quiet life the life her parents set before her.
She was a great mother, loved her family and had plenty of love to go around.
Survivors include two sons, John Edwin Faucette and his wife, Wanda Mauldin Faucette, of Florence and William David "Billy" Faucette Sr. and his wife, Joyce Todd Faucette, of Meridian; a daughter, Carol Ann Griffin and her husband, J. Louis, of Laurel; grandchildren, Roy L. Brantley Faucette and William Faucette, Shannon Faucette Coleman, Johnny Marlin Lacaze and Paige Griffin Parker, all of Meridian, Robert Scott Faucette of Pascagoula, Mark Anthony Faucette of Pascagoula, Greg Griffin of Laurel and Michael Griffin of Hattiesburg; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Faucette Sr.; a son, Robert Lee Faucette Jr.; her parents, John William and Sallie Steele Williford Martin.
The family requests memorials be made to AWE New Hope Baptist Church or a favorite charity.
