Business promotion promised as Quitman officials sworn in

The town of Quitman's city government has its work cut out during the next four years, according to Mayor Tommy Blackburn.
Blackburn and the aldermen were sworn in Sunday afternoon during a ceremony at the Quitman Depot.
The members of the Quitman Board of Aldermen were also sworn in. New to the board are Ward 4 Alderman Lavon Wade and Robert Donald, alderman at-large. Those beginning new terms are: Joe Brooks, Ward 1; Jock Young, Ward 2; and Helen Ann Beeman, Ward 3.
