RUSSELL  Lauderdale County sheriff's deputies arrested a naked Alabama truck driver Monday morning for creating a disturbance at a local truck stop.
Sheriff Billy Sollie said deputies arrested Lorenzo Mathes, 42, of Phenix City, Ala., about 7:10 a.m. at the T.A. Truck Stop just off Interstate 20/59 in Russell.
Mathes is charged with indecent exposure, disturbing a business and disorderly conduct.
Sollie said Mathes also damaged property in the store, including TV monitors. A number of customers were in the truck stop during the incident.
Deputies placed Mathes in a protective custody cell in the booking area of the Lauderdale County Detention Facility, where staff checked on him every 15 minutes. Sollie said that is standard procedure for an inmate booked into the facility in that condition.
Mathes posted a $1,500 bond just before 1 a.m. this morning and was released.
Deputies Kenny Graham and Bryon Dehek and Sgt. Michael Street were the arresting officers.
