Construction is progressing on schedule at the Fine Arts Complex at Meridian Community College.
Ronnie Miller, chairman of the college's fine arts division, said the visual arts building should be open by the spring 2002 semester. Designed in two levels, the building will house studios for design, painting, drawing, ceramics, a kiln room and classrooms.
Money for the project comes from capital improvement funds. Work began on the Fine Arts Complex project in 1991 with the renovation of Ivy Hall. The next phase of the project will involve construction of facilities for band and music, according to the architect, B.B. Archer of Meridian.
