A fugitive from Oklahoma City has been apprehended by the Meridian Police Department, according to Lt. Wade Johnson.
Rodney C. Dorsey, 31, was initially arrested at Eastern Gardens Housing Complex Sunday night by officers responding to a possible drug activity call. Dorsey lied about his identity and was charged with public drunk and providing false information to a police officer, records show.
According to Johnson, Dorsey is wanted in Oklahoma City for failure to appear at a revocation hearing for trafficking cocaine and failure to appear for a court appearance associated with possession of a controlled substance charge.
Meridian authorities are not certain what Dorsey was doing in Meridian.
Dorsey is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Facility, awaiting transfer back to Oklahoma.
