Police are searching for two men who forced their way into a Davis Street and 33rd Avenue home and demanded money Thursday night the second home invasion in Meridian within a day.
Lt. Wade Johnson of the Meridian Police Department said officers responded to the call about 9:15 p.m.
The victim told police that upon answering her door, two black men armed with handguns forced their way into her home and demanded money.
The woman gave them an undisclosed amount of money, and the two men fled on foot. Johnson said they were last seen running east on Davis Street.
One is described as 6 feet tall with a slender build and light complexion. He was wearing a white T-shirt, gray pants and a long black wig. The other is about 5 feet 7 inches tall. He is of average weight with a dark complexion and a shaven head. He was wearing a blue dress shirt.
The robbery occurred 61/2 hours after Meridian police responded to another home invasion and armed robbery during which a microwave was stolen.
The 2:45 p.m. robbery occurred at a home near 31st Avenue and 16th Street. Three black men in bandanas forced their way into the home; one man pulled a handgun on the victim while the others took the microwave. All three escaped through the rear door, Johnson said.
Neither victim was harmed during the robberies, Johnson said.
He said to help prevent incidents such as these, people need to install and use peepholes in their doors.
Anyone with information about these crimes can call the Meridian Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division at 485-1859 or 485-1893 or CrimeStoppers at 485-1860.
