Elmer, Chatham

Sonya Chatham of Meridian and Joseph Elmer of Gibbsboro, N.J., were married Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga., with the Rev. Michael Boles of Meridian officiating.
Parents of the couple are Nelson and Linda Hall of Meridian, Jimmy and Marjorie Chatham of Rose Hill, Joe Elmer of New Smyrna, Fla. and Mary Ann Elmer of Gibbsboro.
Grandparents of the bride are Ola Mae Chatham of Rose Hill and the late M.T. Chatham; Helen Grayson of Savoy and the late Earnest Grayson.
Music for the ceremony was provided by David Seckinger, vocalist; and Pat Sumrell, organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her stepfather. She wore a two-piece gown of dull satin and re-embroidered lace. The strapless bodice was sculpted and trimmed with re-embroidered lace scattered with beads and pearls and a corset tie back. The A-line skirt was enhanced with a double banding of cut-out and re-embroidered lace on the entire hemline. Her chapel-length train was accented with self covered buttons, pearls and beads.
Matron of honor was Amy Carol Day of Birmingham, Ala. Bridesmaid was Vicky Lynae Ladd of Meridian. Courtney Mulligan, niece of the bridegroom, served as flower girl.
Rick Mayatt was best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Bubba Chatham of Meridian and John Hall of Washington, D.C.
A reception was held in Callaway Gardens at the John A. Sibley Horticultural Center following the ceremony.
The couple resides in Tupelo.
