Gospel Music Hall of Fame festival
The 25th annual Gospel Music Hall of Fame Excellence Awards Festival will be held Friday and Saturday at the Temple Theatre.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 per person at the door.

MCC's College for Kids starting soon
Area youngsters can take advantage of fun and educational classes this summer. Meridian Community College will host two sessions June 11-15; June 18-22. Classes include: Gardening on the Planet, Cooking for Fun, Modeling, Manners, Sign Language, Radio and many more.
The cost is $45 per child, per class. Call Denise Mixon at MCC at 482-7445.
MCC's Continuing Education Program College for Kids is for students age 6-15.
VFW Post 3996 hosts charity fish fry
Frank Foster VFW Post No. 3996 will host a charity fish fry June 16, at 10 a.m. on the patio of the Kendallwood Craft Building in Highland Park, next to the Carousel.
Sandwiches will be on sale for $2. A meal with hush puppies, french fries and cole slaw is $3.50.
Meridian native to hold book signing
Meridian native Daisy Seale Moore will hold a book signing Saturday from noon-4 p.m. at Books-A-Million.
She will signing her book "Wings of Love, Poems and Prayers."
Silver Leaf hosts vintage car club
Silver Leaf Manor will host the Vintage Wheels Club "Celebrating the Old Man and His Old Car" on June 17 in honor of Father's Day. The cruisin' event will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Silver Leaf Manor. For information, call Kerri Brown or Elizabeth Bridwell at 483-4566.
