OBITUARIES FOR MONDAY, JUNE 4, 2001

ANDREW J. JONES
Retired South Central Bell employee
Services for Andrew J. "Jack" Jones were to be held today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Revs. Allan Singletary and Richard Davis officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Jones, 73, of Meridian, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Meridian and was a graduate of Meridian High School.
After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he joined the Marines and served during the Korean Conflict, serving his country at the Chosin Reservoir. He married the former Carolyn Askew in October 1951.
Mr. Jones was employed by South Central Bell for 33 years. After his retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He was forever proud of his Southern heritage.
Mr. Jones was a member of Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church, Oakland Heights Masonic Lodge No. 577, Scottish Rite, Hamasa Temple, a lifetime member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member and past governor of the Meridian Moose Lodge and Sons of Confederate Veterans, W.D. Cameron Camp No. 1221.
Survivors include his wife of 49 1/2 years, Carolyn, two sons, Andy Jones and his wife, Jennifer, and Amos Jones, a daughter, Carrie Latham and her husband, Lynn, four grandchildren, Amy and William Hodges, Rebecca and Sally Jones; a brother, Walter Jones and his wife, Kathryn, all of Meridian, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew J. and Velma Jones.
The family requests memorials be sent to a favorite charity or Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Henson, Lytle Stewart, Alton Lightsey, Alan Flint, Larry Richards, Leroy Morse, Bob Bullock and Brent Baucum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Baucum, Maxey Baucum, Jack Smith and Jimmy Autry.
OLIVER VIVIAN MILLER
Bridge tender
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Oliver Vivian Miller will be held today at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Butler with the Rev. Dr. Billy Burge officiating. Burial will be in Butler City Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Miller, 78, of Butler, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Marie M. Miller of Butler; a son, Joseph O. Miller of Newville; two daughters, Ree M. Hanks of Lenox and Ann M. Lolley of Auburn; two sisters, Lucille Lewis of Demopolis and Louise Cook of Albany, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
ELIZABETH FREEMAN HUST
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. Services for Elizabeth "Libby" Freeman Hust will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church with the Rev. William Carl Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Hust, 82, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at DCH. Born in Meridian, Miss., on March 14, 1919, she was a a long time resident of Montgomery. She and her husband were founding members of All Saints Episcopal Church in Montgomery.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Joe McCann and her husband, Dan, of Lake Jackson, Texas; three sons, Wilbor J. Hust Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Tuscaloosa, David B. Hust and his wife, June, of Huntsville and Gerald T. Hust and his wife, Carolyn, of Atlanta; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbor J. Hust Sr.
The family requests memorials be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 645 Coliseum Blvd., Montgomery, AL 36109-0073 or Saint Matthias Episcopal Church, 2310 Skyland Blvd. East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405-4357.
JOHN W. WILLIAMS

Graveside services for John W. Williams will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Jon Kaufman officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Williams, 74, of meridian, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Williams of Meridian; children, Ann Robinson and her husband, Rodney, of Phoenix, and John Michael Williams and his wife, Vicki, of Meridian; four grandchildren, Candle Burgess and her husband, Stephen, Jeramy McCarty, Josh McCarty and Jacob Williams; a great-grandchild, Hannah Burgess; a sister, Audrey Bentley and her husband, Chuck, of Rose Hill; a special friend, Evee; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nancy Lynn Williams.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
Pallbearers will be Irby Lane, Leland Williams, Don Norbury, Josh McCarty, Jeramy McCarty, Kenneth Young and Ken Densmore.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
ANGIE ROSS YARBROUGH

Services for Angie Ross Yarbrough will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harold Scott and Carless Evans Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Yarbrough, 92, died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Benchmark Health Care. She was a long time member of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, where she taught a Sunday School class for many years. She also served as church pianist for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Elgy H. Yarbrough of Marion; a daughter, Phyllis Haygood and her husband, Ron, of Meridian; a sister, Lucille Cannady of Meridian; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be W.G. Rhinehart, Charles Bancroft, E.C. Bancroft, Ray Bishop, E.D. "Red" McKinney and Albert Bartlett.
Honorary pallbearers will be M.E. "Buck" Greene and Joe Reeves.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
HENRIETTA BOUGOURD
Services for Henrietta Bougourd will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Patrick and Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bougourd, 69, of Maryland, died Friday, June 1, 2001, in Abingdon, Md.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Bougourd of Edgewood, Md.; her mother, Esbie Gibson of Conehatta; four daughters, Francine Alex of Conehatta, Debra Loane, Mellody McCoy and Brenda Brodsky, all of Edgewood; a son, Joseph Brodsky Jr. of Edgewood; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hensley Gibson and a brother, Floyd Gibson.
Visitation will be at the home of Francine Alex, 65 Mills Rd., Conehatta.
