OBITUARIES FOR SUNDAY, MAY 27, 2001

BUTLER, Ala. Services for John Hamilton Gibson will be held at 10 a.m. today at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Brown and Edgar Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Gilbertown, Ala.
Mr. Gibson, 71, of Gilbertown, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Leona L. Gibson; two sons, Joseph Wayne Gibson and Kenneth Dwight Gibson; two daughters, Doris Thead and Kathy Dew; three sisters, Matrice Jenkins, Evelyn Turner and Mary Stewart all of Gilbertown; five grandchildren; one step-grandson and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Paul Gibson.
CARLESS B. EVANS
Services for Carless "Grace" B. Evans will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Carless Evans and Jason Bird officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans, 93, of Meridian, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Visitation will be Monday, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
JOHN ALBERT COLE SR.
Services for John Albert "Sun" Cole Sr., will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at West Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Odell Hopkins officiating.
Mr. Cole, 86, of Meridian, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Margie Mae Johnson Cole; nine children, Johnnie Mae Hopson and her husband, Jimmie, Inell E. Moore and her husband, Audie, John Albert Cole Jr., and his wife, Sylvia Joyce, Randolph Cole, Debra McAllister and her husband, Shed, Margaret A. Cole, David L. Cole and his wife, Juanita, all of Meridian, Mary E. Cole of Los Angeles and Sandra F. Cole of Erlanaer, Ky.; one daughter-in-law, Dollie D. Cole of DeKalb; 41 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Cole and Marcella Johnson, both of Meridian; one brother-in-law, Leonard Johnson and his wife, Drucilla, of Columbia, S.C.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives, friends and his church family.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Henry Cole.
The family requests memorials be made to the West Mt. Moriah Scholarship Fund, 10440 Woods Rd., Meridian, MS 39307.
Visitation will be Monday at 7 p.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home.
BARBARA ANN MCCRARY
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Services for Barbara Ann McCrary will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Tillman Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Worth, Fla.
Mrs. McCrary, 55, of West Palm Beach, died Friday, May 25, 2001 at her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda McCrary and Robin Grissinger; two grandchildren, Beth Abele and Michael Grissinger; two brothers, Roy Weathers and James Weathers; three sisters, Carol Jordan Weathers, Ray McMullan Weathers and Elaine Hurtt Weathers; and her former husband, Robert McCrary.
The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
MARCELL DUKES
Services for Marcell Dukes will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Elwood Church of God in Quitman with the Rev. Alee Hopson officiating. Burial will be in Elwood Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dukes, 77, of Quitman, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Survivors include an adopted son, Jimmie R. Gordon of Cincinnati, Ohio; an adopted daughter, Judy Plummer of Quitman; three sisters, Lillian Vaughn of Moss Point, and Clara Evans and Pauline McGee of Quitman; and two brothers, Lonnie McGee and George McGee of Quitman; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Ele McIntosh, 81, of Decatur who died Saturday, May 26, 2001 at Riley Hospital.
