National Hospital Week recognized in local events

Meridian hospital officials are holding activities in honor of National Hospital Week.
On Monday, a reception sponsored by AmSouth Bank was held at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Employees were served a pancake breakfast Tuesday.
Special award pins are being distributed today for employees reaching specific years of service and attendance awards are being given. Employees at Jeff Anderson will also attend a reception in their honor today.
Riley Hospital celebrated "Nurses' Day" Monday.
An AmSouth Bank sponsored reception is being held for Riley Hospital employees today.
Pancake breakfasts will be served for employees Thursday and Friday mornings from 6:15 a.m.-8 a.m. Friday is also "Wear Your Favorite Riley T-shirt Day."
Rush Foundation Hospital distributed T-shirts to all of its employees Monday. Employees enjoyed a pancake breakfast Tuesday and Mayor John Robert Smith read his proclamation on Hospital Week, May 7-11.
In part, the proclamation read, "The hard-working people that compose our hospitals deserve universal regard and appreciation for keeping our community healthy." The mayor urged the community to show its gratitude for local health care workers.
Rush employees are scheduled to participate in "Hospital Trivia" today.
AmSouth Bank will sponsor a reception for Rush employees Thursday.
Friday has been scheduled as "Break With The Boss Day" at Rush for meetings between employees and administration.
