Laird, Wood
Mr. and Mrs. James B. Laird Jr. of Little Rock announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Shea, to Gregory Allen Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wood of Decatur.
The wedding will be held Saturday, May 19, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Hebron Baptist Church.
Miss Laird is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Munn and Mr. and Mrs. James B. Laird Sr., all of Little Rock.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Newton County High School and East Central Community College, where she was a Centrallette. Miss Laird is a senior accountancy major at Mississippi State University, where she is a member of Omnicron Delta Kappa, Gamma Beta Phi and Alpha Theta Chi honor societies.
Mr. Wood is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allen Gressett of Decatur and the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wood of Tipton, Ind.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Newton County High School and East Central Community College. He attended the University of West Alabama, where he was a member of the baseball team.
Mr. Wood is a Farm Bureau Insurance agent for Newton County.
A reception will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Association following the ceremony. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
McKee, McCary
Susan and Jeffery McKee of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, April Michelle, to Christopher Brian McCary, son of Teresa and Ricky McCary of Collinsville.
The wedding will be held Saturday, May 19, 2001, at 3 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Meridian.
Miss McKee is the granddaughter of Hollis G. McKee of Bailey and the late Jennie Fulton McKee; Joyce Stephens of Meridian and the late Billy Stephens Sr.
The bride-elect is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and currently attends Meridian Community College. She will continue pursuing her degree in elementary education this summer at Mississippi State University.
While attending West Lauderdale, she was a member of the National Honor Society, SADD and WL Chorus. She was the recipient of the Meridian Symphony Scholarship and National Poetry Society's Editor Choice Award. Miss McKee is employed by Centerhill Amoco.
Mr. McCary is the grandson of James Roscoe McCary of Meridian and the late Mabel McCary; Rose Moseley of Meridian and the late Ed Moseley.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and currently attends Meridian Community College, where he is pursuing a degree in elementary education. At MCC, he was the recipient of the A.C. Johnston Civitan Award.
He is employed by Don Waldron's Mr. Discount Drugs.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Bresler, Evans
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Benjamin Bresler of Birmingham, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Vaughan, to Albert Bowen Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Albert Evans of Butler.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church in Birmingham.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Boyd Vaughan of Anniston, Ala. and the late Mr. Vaughan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Benjamin Bresler of Birmingham.
Miss Bresler is a magna cum laude graduate of Auburn University, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.
She is currently employed by the Homewood City School System in Birmingham.
The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Henry Evans Jr. of Butler; the late Sarah Harris Brown of St. Petersburg, Fla., and the late William Edward Pestalozi of Coral Gables, Fla.
Mr. Evans is a graduate of Auburn University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
He is currently employed by Deaton Inc. of Birmingham.
Pasarilla, Allen
The Rev. and Mrs. Michael D. Pasarilla of DeSoto, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Renee, to Jeremy Wayne Allen, son of Kathy Knight Allen and Wayne Allen, both of Meridian.
The wedding will be held Friday, May 25, 2001, at 7 p.m. at Southwest Baptist Church in DeSoto.
Miss Pasarilla is the granddaughter of Tomoko McAuliffe of Chula Vista, Calif., Thomas McAuliffe of San Diego Calif., Norma Jean Pasarilla of Phoenix and the late David Pasarilla.
The bride-elect was home schooled and received a bachelor of arts degree in humanities from Belhaven College of Jackson.
Mr. Allen is the grandson of Jeanette Knight of Meridian and the late Bernice Knight; Erma Jean Allen of Meridian and the late Curtis Allen.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Clarkdale High School and received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Belhaven College in Jackson.
Mr. Allen is currently completing his degree in medicine at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Mo.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
McInnis, Swanner
Pam McInnis and Glenn McInnis, both of Meridian, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kacy Nichole, to Charles Christian Swanner, son of Charles and Patsy Swanner of Enterprise.
The wedding will be held Saturday, May 19, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Miss McInnis is the granddaughter of Raye E. Quimby Sr. and the late Carolyn J. Quimby and the late William and Rita McInnis, all of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Southeast Lauderdale High School and attended Meridian Community College and the University of West Alabama.
Miss McInnis is employed by Lauderdale County E-911.
Mr. Swanner is the grandson of Ruby Swanner and the late the Rev. Grady Swanner; William and Mable Irby and the late Lawson E. Long.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Clarkdale High School and Meridian Community College.
Mr. Swanner is employed by the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department.

Royal, Villarrage
Mr. and Mrs. Monte Royal of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Alexanderia, to Jay Villarrage, son of Frances and John Lewis of Jackson and the late Jairo Villarraga.
The wedding will be held Saturday, May 19, 2001, at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Miss Royal is the granddaughter of Ann Royal and the late Alexander Lloyd Royal Sr. and the late Nelson and Axeth Bullock, all of Meridian.
The bride-elect graduated from Meridian High School and will receive a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology from the University of Southern Mississippi in May. She will begin work toward her master's degree in anthropology in the fall at USM.
The bridegroom-elect is pursuing a degree in architecture and engineering at the University of Southern Mississippi.
After the wedding, the couple will reside in Hattiesburg and continue their educations at the University of Southern Mississippi.
