OBITUARIES FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18, 2001

LESTER P. GUILLORY SR.
Former owner of Capital Crane Rental
BATON ROUGE, La. Services for Lester P. Guillory Sr. will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, East. Burial will be in Green Oaks Cemetery.
Mr. Guillory, 83, of Meridian, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Beverly Nursing Center. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Retha W. Guillory of Meridian; two sons, Jim Guillory and Dale Guillory; a sister, Bertha Ulmer; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Guillory; two sons, Lester P. Guillory Jr. and Thomas M. Guillory.
Visitation will be today from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 8-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
ARNIE L. MILLER SR.
Retired salesman for A. Klaus and Co. Wholesale Grocers
MACON Services for Arnie L. Miller Sr. will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Brooksville Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Moore officiating. Burial will be in Brooksville Cemetery with Cockrell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Miller, 85, of Brooksville, died Monday, April 16, 2001, in his home. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific.
Survivors include a son, Arnie L. Miller Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Carpenter Miller.
Visitation will be today from 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
GERALD RUDOLPH IRBY
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Gerald Rudolph "Speedy" Irby will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Springbank Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Irby, 73, of Bolinger, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Silas.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Watkins Irby of Bolinger; two sons, Gary Randy Irby of Houston, Texas and Richard Allan "Speedy" Irby of Bolinger; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Irby Wesley of Bolinger; three brothers, James C. Irby of Decatur, John S. Irby of Mobile and William Floyd Irby Jr. of Needham; a sister, Elizabeth Ann McFadden of Mobile; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
SARAH V. PIERSOL
Retired personnel secretary civil service
Services for Sarah V. Piersol will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernie Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Piersol, 68, of Collinsville, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and a native of Clarke County.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene C. Piersol of Collinsville; a daughter, Pamela K. Branning, M.D., of Sylva, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Elaine McKay of O'Fallon, Ill.; two stepsons, E. Eugene Piersol of Tuskegee, Ala. and Eric G. Piersol of Omaha, Neb.; two step-grandchildren, Evie McKay of Shreveport, La. and Cynthia McKay of O'Fallon; two brothers, William D. Volking Jr. of Quitman and Ronnie Volking of Biloxi; and a sister, Mabel Grace Sanders of Quitman.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, D.K. Branning and a son, Bruce Branning.
Pallbearers will be Bill Pace, Danny Mosley, Kenneth Rutledge, Jerry Harwell, Joe Pace, Lowry Townsend, Danny Luke and Wayne Guy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Al Barber and Kenny Rogers.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
LOUIS HARRIS JR.
X-Ray technician with Rush Foundation Hospital
Services for Louis Harris Jr. will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Zacary Finley officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Harris, 65, of Meridian, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Harris, two sons, Rossland Van Harris and Robert Brown, his mother, Quennie Smith and three sisters, Lillie Mae Richardson, Christine Silleman and Hazel Hall and her husband, Charles, all of Meridian; a brother, Willie Harris and his wife, Claudia, of Inglewood, N.J.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
WILLIE HAROLD BLANKS

Services for Willie Harold Blanks will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Mark United Methodist Church with the Rev. James L. Morris officiating. Burial will be in Rose Garden Cemetery in Daleville with Enterprise Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blanks, 78, of Rockland, N.Y., died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his mother, Fredna Blanks; two brothers, Bertis Blanks and his wife, Elizabeth, of Orangeburg, N.Y. and Fred Blanks of Nanuet, N.Y.; four sisters, Ines Rucker and her husband, Robert, of Nanuet, Theresia Whiteside and her husband, Ken, of Ocala, Fla., and Marie Hicks and her husband, Jay, and Beatrice Downing and her husband, Edward, all of Daleville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie R. Blanks.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at the church.
OLIVER DARDEN

DEKALB Services for Oliver Darden will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Bailey with the Rev. Jerome Bates officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Darden, 63, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita M. Darden, a daughter, Carol Leggette and her husband, John, all of Meridian; four sisters, Elizabeth Temple, Mary Lee Jones, Lillie Mae Spears and JoAnn Temple, all of New York; a brother, Zeno Darden Jr. and his wife, Rubye Neal, of Meridian; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
