In Passing': New Works by Collin Asmus at Bonnie Busbee Art Frame and Gallery

An associate professor of art at Millsaps College, Asmus has earned an
enviable artistic reputation and enjoyed remarkable success since graduating with his master's of fine arts degree from Louisiana State University.
His artwork has been spotlighted in solo exhibits at Ledbetter Lusk Gallery (Memphis, Tenn.), the Pearl River Gallery Studio (Jackson), the University of Alabama (Huntsville), Itawamba College (Fulton), Mississippi University for Women (Columbus), Millsaps College (Jackson), Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, La.), the Meridian Museum of Art, the Casteel Gallery, Lewis Art Gallery (Jackson), and the Pennebaker Gallery (Jackson).
In addition to winning awards at the Meridian Museum of Art (Bi-State and People's Choice), the George Ohr Arts Center, the Masur Museum of Art, and Birmingham-Southern College, Collin's work has been featured in numerous group and competitive exhibits, including, most recently, Art With a Southern Drawl (University of Mobile), Bit by Digital Bit (Manitau Springs, Colorado), and the National Small Painting Exhibition (Wichita Center for the Arts, Kans.).
Asmus was recently selected as one of only eight artists to be included in this year's Mississippi Invitational at the Mississippi Museum of Art (the second time he has been so honored), and was also recently awarded an artist's residency with the Atlantic Center for the Arts (New Smyrna Beach, Florida)

Bonnie Busbee Art Frame and Gallery is located at 712 23rd Ave. in downtown Meridian. Regular gallery hours are10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
