OBITUARIES FOR MONDAY, APRIL 16, 2001

RAYPHORD O'NEIL BOUNDS
Retired owner of Bounds Garage
NEWTON Services for Rayphord O'Neil Bounds will be held today at 3 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Sellars officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bounds, 88, of Newton, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Conva-Rest of Newton. He was a charter member of First Methodist Protestant Church of Newton and a 32nd degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Martha Emma Bounds, a daughter, Betty Sue Henry and her husband, Dan, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Bounds, all of Newton; five grandchildren, Debra Wertz and her husband, Craig, Danny Henry and his wife, Karen, Buster Bounds and his wife, Vicki, Janet Clark and her husband, Bo, and Rayphord Bounds and his wife, Sheri; two brothers, Howard Bounds and his wife, Junita, of Newton and Frank Bounds and his wife, Dot, of Marietta, Ga.; three sisters, Bernice Leach of Newton, Fannie Grace Dennis of Laurel and Annie Laura Wheeler of Newton; 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry O. Bounds Sr.
Pallbearers will be his great-grandsons, Jeremy Bounds, Kerry Harrison, Dan Henry, Chris Bounds, Willie Bounds and Jason Bethea.
GRADY ELMER REED
Services for Grady Elmer Reed will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with Capt. Joe Mur officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Reed, 61, of Meridian, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice. He was a native of Kemper County, a former radio disk jockey and a member of The Salvation Army Church. He also was a longtime taxi driver.
Survivors include a daughter, Nellie Mae Burch and her husband, Timothy, of Warner Robins, Ga.; a son, Mark Hulon Reed of Meridian; two sisters, Jean Shirley of Meridian and Lois Reed and her husband, Billy, of Causeyville; five brothers, Dewey Reed, Henry Thomas Reed and Robert Reed, all of Meridian, Clyde Reed and Virgil Reed, both of Toomsuba; two grandchildren, Joshua and Brittney Burch; and a niece who was his caregiver, Sharon White.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Reed.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
FLORENCE ESTELLE RICH
Graveside services for Florence Estelle Rich will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rich, 92, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
WINNIE GRANTHAM HOLCOMBE
Retired secretary for General Insurance Company
Services for Winnie Grantham Holcombe will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Holcombe, 100, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. She was a member of the Pink Ladies, American Legion, VFW, RSVP, AARP, Pythian Sisters and Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean Quave and her husband, Leslie, of Biloxi, Bessie Kent and her husband, J. Gordon, of Collinsville, and Sue Mott and her husband, Ed, of Tulsa, Okla.; three sons, Jessie G. Holcombe of Dallas, Fred Lynn Holcombe of Cuba, Ala. and Ray Holcombe Jr. and his wife, Becky, of Meridian; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray M. Holcombe Sr. and a son, Donald J. "Jerry" Holcombe.
The family requests memorials be made to Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home or a favorite charity.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton for Floyd McGee, 67, of Newton, who died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
JAMES SNOWDEN
Arrangements were incomplete at Stephens Funeral Home for James "Mac" Snowden, 84, of Meridian, who died Sunday, April 15, 2001, a King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home.
FRED MOORE
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Fred Moore, 58, of Meridian, who died Friday, April 13, 2001, in his home.
JESSIE DUBOSE
Arrangements were incomplete at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home for Jessie Dubose, 69, of Meridian, who died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
