East Mississippi Community College head basketball coach Steve Hull followed suit with his women's coach counterpart Wednesday, taking what he considers to be one of the best guard prospects in the area in Northeast Lauderdale's Jimmy Kelly.
Kelly signed a letter of intent to play for Hull's Lion squad that was very competitive and finished with a 14-13 overall record this past season. The Lions' mark included a third-place finish at 8-4 in the North Division, as EMCC just missed the playoffs.
Kelly (5-9, 175) averaged 17 points per game and five rebounds last season for Lewis Lightsey's Trojan squad that finished at 17-12.
He also led averaged approximately steals and three assists per game for the Roajsn.
Kelly also secured Division 5-4A honors twice during his time at Northeast Lauderdale.
The signing of Kelly marks the first NEL product to go to Scooba since J.C. Houston in 1995.
