Meridian School Board approves contracts

The Meridian School Board approved contracts at a special meeting today for renovation and repairs at a number of schools.
The work will include back-flow repair and boiler replacements at Poplar Springs Elementary School, Oakland Heights Elementary School and Meridian High School.
New wiring systems will be installed in Marion Park Alternative School, Poplar Springs Elementary School, Parkview Elementary School and West End Elementary School.
The board also recommended architects for roofing projects for Kate Griffin Junior High School, Carver Middle School, Marion Park, Poplar Springs and West End. Kate Griffin and Carver were suggested to receive new roofs. Poplar Springs, Marion Park and West End were recommended to receive new roofs on sections of the schools.
Local businesses contracted for services include McLain Plumbing of Philadelphia, Thompson Electric of Meridian, Woodall Electric of Meridian and Webster Electric Company of Collinsville.
Local architects recommended for roofing projects include Hobgood Architects and Archer Architects.
