A 10-year-old third-grader at Oakland Heights Elementary School was suspended Thursday for allegedly attacking another student at a bus stop earlier in the day.
No one was injured.
Thompson said the student whose coat was cut notified an administrator upon arriving on campus. School safety guards and the Meridian Police Department were called. Thompson said the student hid the box cutter when the police arrived, but it was recovered.
Superintendent Dr. Janet McLin said school officials are working with juvenile authorities to decide what action to take against the student.
