Dalewood man dies in Minnow Bucket Rd. accident

A Dalewood man is the third person to die from injuries suffered in a car crash on Minnow Bucket Road within the past eight months.
County authorities said the S-10 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Wayne Milstead, 56, left the road and struck a tree.
Maj. Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department said the report of a wreck came just after midnight Saturday. Deputies were on the scene minutes later.
Milstead died on impact, said Clayton Cobler, Lauderdale County medical examiner investigator.
Members of the Lauderdale Volunteer Fire Department and Metro Ambulance were called out to help with the accident. Rescue workers with the Meridian Fire Department also were needed to remove Milstead from the wreckage using the Jaws of Life.
In December, 18-year-old Jason Charles Bagley of Meridian was killed near the site of Milstead's crash. And, on July 30, 18-year-old Crystal Carlisle, also of Dalewood, was killed on Minnow Bucket Road. Both Bagley and Carlisle died in early morning crashes.
He said after the Bagley's crash, county officials had discussed finding a means for lessening the danger of traveling Minnow Bucket Road.
