Adcox throws no-hitter for MCC softball

Meridian Community College got a no-hitter from Amy Adcox and earned a split in its two games in the Pensacola (Fla.) Junior College Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament.
Adcox (9-2) allowed no hits in five innings as the Lady Eagles blanked Parkland College 8-0 in their opener Friday.
Everyone who played in the game had at least one hit for MCC, which was led by Layla Brown's 2-for-3 performance that included a double. Nicole Jones went 2-for-2, while Stephanie Dixon and Robin Holland each went 2-for-3.
The Lady Eagles dropped a 3-0 game to Pensacola in the nightcap, as MCC was outhit 5-3.
The Lady Eagles, now 13-7, return to action in the tourney today at noon.
