The Meridian High Wildcats took a 4-3 victory over the Columbus Falcons Monday night in a make-up of last Friday's baseball contest.
The Wildcats won it on a two-run double by Sanduan Dubose in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Tyler Maxwell got the win to improve to 1-1, while the loss was charged to Matt Brown, who fell to 0-1.
Meridian took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, as John Iverson led off with a double, and moved over to third when Torry Bates reached on an error. Iverson then scored and Chris Roberts, running for Bates, moved to second on a groundout by Andy Slayton. Roberts later scored on a single from Harris.
Columbus took the lead in the top of the sixth by scoring three runs on two walks, two hit batters and a single hit.
Down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Lance Burnham led off the inning with a single. Harris, who was a starter, then replaced Burnham.
Harris reached third base on Stevens' hit and run. Dubose then drove a double to deep center field scoring both Harris and Stevens for the tying and winning run.
Columbus fell to 1-2 with the loss and will play host to Aberdeen today.
The Wildcats ran their record to .500 with the victory, and now stand 4-4.
Meridian returns to action today as the Wildcats host Philadelphia at John Moss Field. Junior varsity action gets under way at 4 p.m., with the high school to follow.
