Volunteers needed for annual MS walk

Volunteering does not have to mean being a firefighter or an emergency medical technician.
Taking part in this year's Mississippi Division of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society may be an option for the average person to help out in their community.
Volunteers of all types are needed in preparing for the 13th annual National Multiple Sclerosis Society's WALK set for March 31.
Locally, walkers may register at 9 a.m. at Bonita Lakes. The walk will begin at 10 a.m.
Money raised by the national society supports research about the disease and programs for the third of a million Americans with MS.
Volunteers will be working along side their friends, neighbors and community leaders in an effort to raise awareness about MS and money necessary to continue research and support programs. Workers are needed to help register walkers, host snack stations, monitor the route and cheering on participants.
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease of the central nervous system. To find out more about volunteering or about help with MS, call (800) FIGHT-MS. Interested people can contact Brenda Armsdorff at 483-8241 for more local details.
