SCRIBNER, MINCHEW
Latishia M. Minchew and Johnny E. Scribner, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with the Rev. Edsol Wells officiating.
Parents of the couple are James and Lois Minchew and Ted and Pam Scribner, all of Meridian.
Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas King and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Lee Minchew.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Prentiss Ardell Collins and Louise Scribner and the late Marshall Scribner.
Music was provided by Voices of Theory, accompanied by Sabrina Matthews, pianist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a sleeveless white satin gown with a corset bodice adorned with pearls. The full skirt featured a tulle overlay with embroidered roses and pearls and a white satin border. The gown extended into a chapel-length train.
Chris Dawson of Meridian served as matron of honor.
Other attendants were Lisa Robinson and Kim Scribner, both of Meridian.
Katie Dawson and Austin Scribner, both of Meridian, were flower girl and ring bearer.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Kenny Mixon of Hattiesburg, Robby Scribner of Meridian, Kyle Dawson and Lyndz Carney.
Rice bag attendants were Tori and Lexi Carney.
A reception was held at the church following the ceremony. Assisting were Jennifer Parker, Mitzi Minchew, Suzanne Draughdrill and Michelle Clemonts.
After a honeymoon in Tennessee, the couple resides in Meridian.
JUDSON, LITCHFIELD
Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church was the setting for the afternoon wedding uniting Molly Michelle Litchfield of Meridian and Thomas Bradley Judson of West Point.
The wedding was held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, with the Revs. James Ruffin and Justin Temple Knight conducting the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Litchfeld of Meridian. Her grandparents are John W. Jenkins and the late Jessie Sims Jenkins and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Turner Litchfield, all of Meridian.
The bridegroom is the son of Kaye Young Judson of West Point and the late Tim H. Judson. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred William Young and the late Mr. and Mrs. John E. Judson, all of West Point.
Nuptial music was provided by Barry Germany, pianist, and Emilia Massengale, harpist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white matte sating. The fitted bodice was adorned with Alencon lace and seed pearls. The A-line skirt featured a wide flounce around the bottom and was accented with tucks, lace and pearls. The gown also featured covered buttons in the back and extended to a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, the bride wore a band of pearls and beads with two tiers of illusion. She carried a hand-tied clutch of bridal white roses accented with fuchsia sweetheart roses.
Melissa Morgan Litchfield of Washington, D.C., served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Kathryn Barksdale of Brandon; Rebecca Lynn Edwards of Knoxville, Tenn., cousin of the bride; Shannon Leigh Eubanks of Meridian; Emily Lambert Gibson of Hazelhurst; Sara Marie Judson of West Point, sister of the bridegroom; Rivers Diane Smith of Cleveland; and Kathryn Rebecca Thomas of Germantown, Tenn.
The bridesmaids wore two-piece gowns of pewter designed with a fitted bodice trimmed with matching beading.
Serving the bridegroom as best man was his grandfather, Fred William Young. Groomsmen were Jonathan David DeStefanis of Cordova, Tenn; Herbert Theodore Dubuisson of Bay St. Louis; Stephen Anthony Gatta of Clinton; David Lambert Knighten and Samuel Long Marshall, both of West Point; Christopher William Rogers of Columbus; and William Tyson Vanlandingham of Metairie, La.
Ushers were Eric Linden Collison, James Andrew Donahou and Jonathan Matthew Shook, all of Starkville; Matthew Coleston Edwards of Knoxville, Tenn., cousin of the bridegroom; John Atley Knight of Meridian; and Gregory Joseph Ochs of Lexington, Tenn.
Rose petal girls were Kennedy Alexandra LeNoir and Allison Leigh Lucovich, both of Meridian. Bride's proxy was Adriane Marie Johnson of Starkville.
Lori Judy of Meridian was wedding director. Program attendants were Jessica Lauren Lucovich and Laurel Elizabeth VanZandt, both of Meridian, and Bronwyn Elizabeth Tullos of Brandon. Registry attendants were Tyner Lex Compton and Erin Elizabeth Harper, both of Meridian.
Prenuptial parties culminated with a bridesmaids' luncheon at Northwood Country Club.
On the eve of the wedding, the wedding party, along with friends and relatives, were honored with a Mexican fiesta hosted by the bridegroom's mother.
A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, was held at the church following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Mexico, the couple resides in West Point.
BROWN, LANG
Melissa Catherine Long of Meridian and Jamie Monroe Brown of Collinsville were married Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Twiner officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Irby Lang and Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Brown Jr.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Gordon Ellis and the late Mr. Ellis and Elizabeth Lang and the S.G. Lang.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. George Quam and Ora Lee Brown and the late Charles A. Brown Sr.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Leesa Wilkinson, pianist and organist; Ron Widener, trumpet; Robbie Hales, soloist; and Tim Rigby, soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a two-piece gown with a bodice encrusted with pearls and bugle beads. The flowing chiffon skirt featured a satin and chiffon lining.
She carried a bouquet of hand-tied white roses.
Nikki Mosby of Meridian was maid of honor.
Other attendants were Laura Lang, Meredith Matlock, Mandy Hodges and Stevie Parker, all of Meridian. They each wore a sage green, luminescent chiffon A-line gown featuring a strapless bodice with patina satin trim. A matching chiffon stole complemented the ensemble.
Carley Owen and Josh Acosta, both of Meridian, served as flower girl and ring bearer.
Joey Watson of Collinsville served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Ryan Rainer, Aaron Brown and Marshall Brown, all of Collinsville; Bradley Ray and David Haggard, both of Meridian; and Chris Reineke of Long Beach.
Kayla Brown, niece of the bridegroom, was bubble attendant. Program attendants were Witt Haggard and Jamie McElroy, nephews of the bride.
A reception was held at Holiday Inn Express following the ceremony. Music was provided by Carey Smith and Friends. Assisting at the reception were Corley Knight, Lauren Doty, Amber Shannon, Carrie McElroy, Kim Thompson and Blair Manning.
The couple honeymooned in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The bride was honored with several showers prior to her marriage to James Monroe Brown.
A miscellaneous shower was hosted by Debra Anderson and Betty Lou Jones.
Miss Lang also was honored with a lingerie shower, hosted by Nikki Mosby, Meredith Matlock and Mandy Hodges.
A Christmas ornament shower was hosted by Stevie Parker and Kathy Parker.
A linen shower and luncheon was hosted at the home of Jackie Stevens.
At a dessert party, hosted by Fleeta McElroy and Nancy Elroy, guest brought their favorite dessert recipe.
A church-wide tea was hosted by the United Methodist Women, Deborah Circle.
And, a bridesmaid luncheon was hosted by Cathy Ellis and Jan Hitt.
