MCC women roll to conference win

The Lady Eagles of Meridian Community College fell behind early, but came storming back for an 83-60 win over homestanding Miss-Lou Conference rival Mary Holmes Monday night.
MCC, 22-4 overall and 6-0 in conference play, opened the second half with a 28-5 run en route to the 23-point victory.
Teasha McFarland paced MCC with 20 points. Tommie Walden and Ole Miss signee Catesha Riley each added 14 points and former Meridian High standout Milini Tims scored 11.
Mary Holmes, 0-6 on the year and 0-5 in the conference, was led by Christy Randall with 19 points.
MCC will play Southern Union Community College on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., when the Lady Eagles will be seeking to avenge an earlier loss this season at Southern Union.
East Central men 68, Pearl River 64: East Central improved to 12-12 on the year and 3-8 in division play with a big win over Pearl River.
The Warriors were led by Chris Webb's 19 points.
James Denson added 14 points in the win.
Pearl River, 17-7 and 9-2 in the South Division, was led by Taborius Lindsey with 15 points and Ernest Nixon with 12.
ECCC travels to Hinds Community College on Thursday.
East Central women 76, Pearl River 71: East Central led 37-28 at halftime and held on for the five-point win behind the hand of former Louisville standout Margo Porter.
Porter poured in 29 points in the contest.
Nikki Lacour added 20 for the Lady Warriors, who are now 18-4 on the year and 9-2 in division play. Former Lake standout Nicole Cox had 10 points and Southern Miss signee Anna Udicova had seven.
Pearl River, 12-11 and 5-6, was led by Jessica Puecheu with 20 points and Lori Desilvey with 12.
East Mississippi women 77, Coahoma 62: The Lady Lions earned the second victory of the season, and their second over Coahoma, with a 15-point win at Scooba Monday night.
Former Meridian High School standout Kim Davis pumped in a game-high 22 points to lead East Mississippi, while freshman Kenyetta Moore of Kemper County pumped in 20. Donna Franklin, another MHS product, added 12 points for the Lady Lions, who led just 28-26 at halftime.
