OBITUARIES FOR SATURDAY, FEB. 10, 2001

CHARLES WOODROW CARROLL
Welder/farmer
QUITMAN Services for Charles Woodrow Carroll were held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Stanley Phillips officiating. Burial was in New Home Cemetery.
Mr. Carroll, 77, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, in his home.
Survivors include a wife, Lois L. Evans Carroll of Quitman; a son, Ricky Woodrow Carroll of Quitman; two daughters, Vickie Carroll Winslett of Madison and Brenda Carroll Fagan of Quitman; two brothers, Eldridge Carroll of Quitman and Elwin Carroll of Meridian; a sister, Eloise Blackwell of Quitman; four grandchildren, Rebecca and Samuel Winslett of Madison, Derrick Woodrow Carroll and Wesley Fagan, both of Quitman.
CLIFFORD HOFFER
Construction worker for APAC of Mississippi
Services for Clifford "Fiddler" Hoffer will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Roy Dabbs and Linda Weatherford officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Hoffer, 68, of Meridian, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Dot Hoffer of Meridian; two sons, Dale Hoffer and his wife, Joyce, and Jimmy Hoffer, all of Meridian; three sisters, Clara Griffith and her husband, Ray, of Enterprise, Jewel Smith of Meridian and
Patricia Rasberry and her husband, David, of Meridian; four grandchildren, Stephen Hoffer, Michelle Hoffer, Christina Hoffer and Niki Moorehead; and two great-grandchildren, Dolton Hoffer and Brianna Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kindel and Ruby Hoffer; three brothers, Sonny Hoffer, Pete Hoffer and Jimmy Hoffer; and a grandson, Mathew Dale Hoffer.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hoffer, Frankie Hoffer, Charlie Hoffer, Earl Robinson, Ronald Robinson, Kevin Singleton, Donald Robinson, Raymond Davis and Jimmy Ivy. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Williams, Charlie Lockleer, Sammy Ray William and employees of APAC.
JOHN C. LUNSFORD
Retired
Services for John C. Lunsford will be held Monday at noon at Mount Nebo Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lunsford, 64, of Collinsville, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, in Collinsville. He was retired.
Survivors include four daughter, Gail Jones of London, Ky., Susie Bush and Phrona Glass, both of Collinsville, and Laura Smith of Bailey; two sons, Stephen Lunsford and John Lunsford, both of Collinsville; his father, John G. Lunsford of Collinsville; a sister, Rose Wade of Meridian; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Sue Lunsford.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.-8p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Lawson, Neil Lawson, Darrell Bush, Stephen Lunsford, John Lunsford, Christopher Lunsford, James Smith and Mark Glass.
JOHN T. HILL
Retired farmer
PHILADELPHIA Services for John T. Hill will be held today at 1 p.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with Dr. Jim Shull and the Revs. Peter J. Gawda and Tony Bently officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Hill, 85, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Rest Care Center Heartfelt Hospice. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Seward of Philadelphia and Sylvia Stevens of Louisville; two brothers, Mack Hill of Philadelphia and Bernard Hill of Gulfport; and three grandchildren.
VENNIE N. DAY
Homemaker
QUITMAN Services for Vennie N. Day will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Leo Smith and Jim Manning officiating. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Day, 85, of Waynesboro, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
Survivors include a son, Gene Day and his wife, Pat, of Saraland, Ala.; a daughter, Bobbie Faye Rolison and her husband, Jimmy Roy, of Quitman; three sisters, her twin Vester Horne of Meridian, Neva Frey of Mobile, Ala., and Angie Broadhead of Theodore, Ala.; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
COL. STONEWALL VINSTON
Retired, U.S. Air Force
YORK, Ala. Services for Col. Stonewall Vinston will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Kelly Unger and Sam Nettles officiating. Burial will be in Clay Memorial Cemetery in Cuba.
Mr. Vinston, 81, of Selma, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at his home. He was a retired colonel having served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Nell McGowen Vinston of Selma; two sons, Bill Vinston of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Stoney M. Vinston of Selma; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
