OXFORD David Sanders scored 19 points, 16 in the second half, as Ole Miss defeated Arkansas 84-73 Wednesday night in a Southeastern Conference West Division showdown, sweeping the season series from the Razorbacks.
Jannero Pargo scored all 20 of his points in the second half for Arkansas, and helped the Razorbacks build a 48-41 lead with 13 minutes remaining in the game.
But then, Aaron Harper hit consecutive 3-pointers to start a 14-0 run that gave Ole Miss a 55-48 lead with 9:00 left.
Harper had 14 points and Rahim Lockhart scored 13 for the Rebels. Jason Harrison and Justin Reed each scored 12 points, and all of Reed's came in the second half.
Ole Miss is now 16-4 and 4-3 in the SEC. Arkansas fell to 12-7 and 3-4.
Sanders made all six of his field-goal attempts. With 6:50 left, Sanders hit a 3, then followed it with a layup off a steal to give Ole Miss a 62-51 lead.
Joe Johnson had 17 points for Arkansas.
The first half had as many turnovers (30) as points (30). The first 10 minutes were especially sloppy. Midway through the half, Ole Miss led 11-7 and the teams had committed 16 turnovers.
When the teams did hold on to the ball, the shooting was accurate. The Razorbacks shot 45 percent and held a 27-25 lead at the half. The Rebels made 53 percent of their shots in the first half.
Ole Miss was even better in the second half shooting 64 percent to finish the game at 60 percent (24-for-40).
The Rebels entered the game shooting just 39 percent in conference play.
