Forest boys blow past Kosciusko in second half

FOREST The Forest Bearcats used a dominating second half to beat Kosciusko 60-39 in the 2001 Broiler Classic Saturday night at Forest High School.
South Leake outgunned Morton 92-72 in the early boys' game.
Forest boys 60, Kosciusko 39: Forest outscored the Whippets 41-12 in the second half to take the win.
Forest led 11-9 after one quarter, but the Whippets got the last four points of the first half to take a 27-19 lead into intermission.
Kosciusko got no closer than eight points in the final 5:05.
Boone led Forest, 11-13, with 22 points. Rhodes scored 17 and Trevarous Willis added 10.
Kosciusko, 13-14, was led by Harmon's 14 points.
South Leake boys 92, Morton 72: The 15th-ranked Wildcats extended their win streak to 21 with the 20-point win. South Leake, 25-1, got 22 points from Jamal Brown. The defending Class 2A state champions also had Chris Bloodsaw score 19, Kalus Johnson 18 and Lekendrick Fortune 10.
Morton, 16-12, got 22 points from Elijah McDonald, 19 from Todd Butler, 12 from Andrew Lewis, and eight from Justin Ficklin. Butler hit five 3-pointers.
