DUKE, DAVIS
Heather Iva Duke and Christopher Michael Davis will be united in marriage on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Quitman.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Duke of Quitman and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Davis of Ellisville.
Miss Duke is the granddaughter of Iva M. Crawford of Quitman and the late Grady E. Crawford of Jackson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Zeddie Kie Duke of Grove Hill, Ala.
The bride-elect is an honors graduate of Quitman High School. She attended Jones Junior College and Delta State University. In May, she will graduate from William Carey College in Hattiesburg with a bachelor of music education degree.
Miss Duke is certified in music education with a vocal emphasis and is employed by the Perry County School District.
Mr. Davis is the grandson of Audrey Davis of Ellisville and the late Elder B. C. Davis; Audrey Riels of Sanford and the late Sennett Riels.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of South Jones High School and Jones Junior College. He attended Mississippi State University.
Mr. Davis is employed by NorthStar Communications Group is Hattiesburg.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Family and friends are invited to attend.
ESTES, ROGERS
Mr. and Mrs. John Estes of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Cassandra Dawn, to Walter Turner Rogers Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rogers of Meridian.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church.
Miss Estes is the granddaughter of Mrs. Howard Butler Webb of Tucson, Ariz., and the late Mr. Webb; Mrs. Steven Lata P. Estes of Mobile, Ala., and the late Mr. Estes.
The bride-elect is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
While attending Ole Miss, she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the Mississippi Student Nursing Association.
Miss Estes is employed as a registered nurse in the coronary care unit at Central Mississippi Medical Center.
Mr. Rogers is the grandson of Mrs. Frederick Marshal Rogers of Meridian and the late Mr. Rogers; Mrs. Troy Lee Odom of Cleveland and the late Mr. Odom.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Lamar High School and received an associates degree in telecommunications from Meridian Community College.
Mr. Rogers is employed as a cellular site technician with CenturyTel of Jackson.
A reception will be held at the church Family Life Center following the ceremony.
EVANS, COLEMAN
Mr. and Mrs. James Dansby Evans of Butler, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Evelyn Beaty, to John Nelson Coleman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Algernon Sidney Coleman Jr. of Montgomery, Ala.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at 5 p.m. at Mount Sterling Methodist Church.
Miss Evans is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Gordon Paul and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Henry Evans Jr., all of Butler, and the late William Homer Morris of Geneva, Ala.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Patrician Academy and received a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Miss Evans is a provisional member of the Junior League of Birmingham.
She is employed by Southern Accents Inc. in Birmingham.
Mr. Coleman is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Herbert Harris Sr., Mrs. Algernon Sidney Coleman Sr. and the late Mr. Coleman, all of Montgomery.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of The Montgomery Academy and received a bachelor of science degree in finance from the University of Alabama.
While attending Birmingham-Southern College and Alabama, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Mr. Coleman is employed by Eason, Graham and Sandner Inc. of Birmingham.
A reception will be held at Choctaw Country Club in Butler following the ceremony.
WHITE, HOPKINS
Terry and Diane White of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachelle, to David Hopkins, son of Sonny and Paulette Hopkins of Meridian.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Collinsville.
Miss White is the granddaughter of the late Perry and Margaret White of Meridian and Duane and Laura Bunger of Gatesville, Texas.
The bride-elect is a graduate of West Lauderdale High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Millsaps College.
While attending Millsaps, she was a member of Chi Omega sorority, the Cross Country Team and a resident assistant.
Mr. Hopkins is the grandson of the late Leonard Hopkins Sr. and Margaret Hopkins of Meridian; Cecil and Jimmie Lee Aycock of Rose Hill.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Clarkdale High School and received a bachelor's degree in church music from Mississippi College, where he was a member of the Concert Singers.
A reception will be held at Howard Johnson's Convention Center in Meridian following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
SLOWIK, RUSSELL
Vicki Smith of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Walter Slowik of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Jesyca Lynn Slowik, to Stacy Lackey Russell, son of Willa Russell Frazier of Meridian and the late Bo Russell.
A wedding date has not been set.
Miss Slowik is the granddaughter of the late Furman C. and Willie Etta Rawson Williamson of Ward, Ala., and Flash Slowik of Bourne, Mass., and the late Joseph Slowik.
The bride-elect attended Tuscaloosa County High School and is employed by Dale E. Peterson Realty.
Mr. Russell is the grandson of Will and Betty Lackey and Ree Russell and the late Bill Russell, all of Meridian.
The bridegroom-elect attended West Lauderdale High School and is employed by Dungan Construction.
